A film studio in west Cork is looking for 1,000 people to work as film extras for a World War II epic movie about screen icon James Stewart.

West Cork Film Studios is looking for extras who are available to take part in filming in Skibbereen in September.

The film, with the working title "Jimmy" will focus on the Hollywood actor's time as a combat pilot in after putting his entertainment career on hold to join the US military.

A range of roles are being filled, including speaking roles and featured extras roles.

There's also an open all for people to to act as swing dancers, ballet dancers, army officers, airbase crew, medics and Hollywood Oscar party goers.

The production is a 1940's costume period film, and all extras will be provided with a fitted costume.
