A man and a woman have died after a crash in South Dublin.
It happened at around half one this morning on Butterfield Avenue in Templeogue.
The man and woman were killed when a car left the road and collided with a lamppost.
Their bodies have been removed to Tallaght University Hospital and post mortem examinations are due to take place later today.
The Garda Ombudsman has been notified and is conducting an examination.
The Garda Forensic Collision Investigation Unit meanwhile have conducted their examination of the scene and the road has reopened.
Anyone who may have dashcam footage is being asked to come forward.
