The deputy CMO says there are no plans to move pregnant women up the vaccine queue after reports linking Covid to stillbirths.

Health officials yesterday said there have been four preliminary reports of this where the virus could have been a factor.

HSE maternity staff were issued an alert yesterday after coroners identified coronavirus infection of the placenta as a factor in four stillbirths in January and February.

Dr. Ronan Glynn says the details around the stillbirths have not yet been confirmed.

'We have to wait for the full data to come through. Internationally this is a very rare condition and we'll need to wait for the full details from the coroners to conclude fully on that'.
