Average weekly earnings are up more than 3% since last year according to the CSO.

The average weekly wage is now almost 770 euro, compared to 744 euro last year, an increase of just over 25 euro.

While that's the average, the CSO say there are variations in earnings across sectors of the economy.

Those working in the Information and Communication sector enjoy an average weekly wage of €1257.47, while those employed in the Accommodation and Food Service Activity sector are paid an average €511.94 a week.

Average weekly earnings increased in 11 of the 13 sectors of the economy since last year.

Since 2014, average weekly earnings have jumped by 10.0%.
