The British Prime Minister says she will head to Brussels with fresh ideas to deliver Brexit.

Theresa May says she'll be battling for Britain when she returns to Brussels to secure a new EU withdrawal agreement.

Writing in the Sunday Telegraph she says she will be armed with a fresh mandate, new ideas and a renewed determination to agree a pragmatic solution that delivers the Brexit British people voted for while ensuring there is no hard border between northern Ireland and the republic.

The Tanaiste meanwhile, in an article in the Sunday Times insists there can be no withdrawal agreement without the backstop.

Simon Coveney says the European Union wants a comprehensive trade agreement in place by the end of 2020.

It is now time for the UK to keep its word, to deliver on the committments and on its responsibilities.

EU leaders have said they won't renegotiate.
