A Clare TD has resigned from Sinn Féin, claiming she was subjected to "psychological warfare".
In a damning statement, Violet-Anne Wynne, said she was isolated in the party and that Sinn Féin were "actively seeking" for her to resign through "gaslighting measures".
The Clare TD was first elected to the Dáil in 2020 and said at the time she took her membership of the party very seriously.
But she claims Sinn Féin "do not take kindly to autonomy and those who do not follow their plans”.
She continued: “The Sinn Féin TDs in Leinster House I cannot fault but they are not tasked with making decisions locally and seem to be an entirely separate entity with no power to influence."
"The issues I continuously faced seem to be at local level within the organisation and structures and lack of."
Sinn Féin say they're "very sorry to hear" a Clare TD has decided to resign from the party.
She also said her issues were mainly at a local level, which Sinn Fein acknowledged and say they will "continue to resolve".
