Donald Trump Asks Supporters To Pray For Him Ahead Of Impeachment Vote

12:40 PM - 18 Dec 2019

Donald Trump has asked supporters to say a prayer for him ahead of a vote which could see him become only the third US president to be impeached.

Democrats - who want to remove him from office - will vote to put him on trial, although the Republican-controlled senate is unlikely to convict him.

Trump has tweeted to say the impeachment process is a terrible thing, which should never happen to another President again.

Politicians will vote over claims he misused his power later today, with President Trump maintaining he did nothing wrong.

He denies abusing his power by asking President Zelensky of Ukraine to investigate a political rival in return for military aid.
