A woman in her seventies has died in a crash in Longford.
The single-vehicle collision occurred in the Strokestown Road, just outside Longford town, at 12.50 this afternoon.
The lady was pronounced dead at the scene and her remains have been taken to Mullingar hospital.
The scene remains closed for a Garda technical examination and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
