GoFundMe has banned anti-vaccination campaigns.

The crowdfunding website, which has 500 thousand Irish users, says anti-vaccination rhetoric is a risk to public health.

According to the Irish Independent, the CEO took the decision to prevent misinformation.

It comes after Health Minister Simon Harris said earlier this week said that he'd consider a ban on un-vaccinated children in creches.

The National Assocaition of General Practitioners has welcomed the move by Go Fund Me, President Dr Maitiu O'Toole, says 'Anti-vaccination campaigns, specifically campaigns that are undertaken on social media have led to a reduction in the uptake of vaccines in Ireland and I believe that the use of social media to spread misinformation by the anti-vaccination cohort is doing damage'
