The Irish Hairdressers Federation wants salons to be able to reopen earlier than planned.

It's recommending the government open salons on June 29th, instead of phase four when they're due to open on July 20th.

The Irish Hairdressers' Federation will present its recommendations to Government this week in an effort to open salons earlier.

It says hairdressers are already well-equipped to ensure hygiene standards are met and to carry out contact tracing when they re-open.

Irish Hairdressers Federation incoming president, Danielle Kennedy, says they're ready to change how they do business due to Covid-19.
