A number of homeless and disability organisations have issued an urgent appeal for staff during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Crisis Cover Initiative is asking the public to register as Covid 19 emergency staff.

The charities are asking people to become 'ordinary heroes' to prevent services for vulnerable people from having to shut their doors.

A range of skill sets and roles are required, including; reception and cleaning staff, as well as specialist supports such as disability care workers, healthcare workers, and project workers.

The Crisis Cover initiative is being managed by charity Quality Matters on behalf of organisations including Depaul, Novas, Dublin Simon, Walk, Pace, Crosscare, Sophia Housing.
