A special hotline has been set up in Donegal for reporting illegal gatherings.
It comes after NPHET expressed particular concern about the covid-19 situation in the county.
The hotline has been established by Gardai in Letterkenny.
At the moment, the town has the second-highest Covid-19 incidence rate in the country.
The new phone number was set up today, and the public can report incidents such as parties to 074-7167101.
The Vice President of the Garda Representative Association says he has reservations about it.
Brendan O'Connor says it's unfair to put extra pressure on Gardai as they haven't been vaccinated yet.
He says "We don't believe that our members are the solution to the problem and putting that responsibility on us is just a bit unfair.
It's a public health issue and yet the guards are getting lumped with the problem again. We're the only frontline service that hasn't been vaccinated, so sending us into people's houses, sending us in to communities doesn't make sense.
We will do it cause that's what we're duty-bound to do - but we have huge reservations."
