Hunt Says Brexit Without Backstop Possible

Conservative leadership contender, Jeremy Hunt, says EU politicians would be prepared to look at a Brexit deal that does not involve a backstop.

Speaking on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show, Jeremy Hunt says both Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron have indicated privately the backstop issue could be revisited.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said there can be no withdrawal deal without a resolution of the Irish border issue.

Jeremy Hunt says the issue is still on the table.
