An official Garda inquiry is underway after a senior officer who was awaiting the results of a Covid 19 test attended an event with around 15 people today.
This morning, a briefing was held where media were told that the cold case disappearance of Jo Jo Dullard was being upgraded to a murder investigation.
The 21-year-old went missing in Moone in Co Kildare, 25 years ago.
Senior Gardai attended the media briefing along with 15 other people - including Jo Jo's sister Kathleen Bergin.
One of the Gardai in attendance had been awaiting the results of a covid-19 test.
Following the conclusion of the briefing, it's emerged that the Garda has since received a positive result.
Everyone who attended the event has been advised to restrict their movements.
In a statement, Gardai say measures were put in place at the briefing in relation to social distancing. Members of the media were advised to only attend if essential and they were also advised they must wear a face covering.
