Irish consumers are being called on to buy local as the Brexit deadline fast approaches.

The message comes as Guaranteed Irish announces a new media partnership deal with Communicorp Media, the home of Today FM.

Both brands have come together in an effort to support Irish jobs among growing economic uncertainty in Ireland with Brexit deadline day fast approaching.

Ad campaigns will run across Today FM's on-air and online offerings featuring businesses such as Cork-based Ballymaloe Foods, Dublin tech firm Viatel, Cavan based insulation solutions business Kingspan and more.

This partnership comes off the back of Communicorp’s own intensive ‘Buy Local’ campaign created to promote the local main street, and encourages listeners to buy local and support their local businesses.

Brid O’Connell, CEO of Guaranteed Irish, said: "With Brexit uncertainty, it’s more important than ever that businesses in Ireland take steps to protect themselves from the economic fall-out."

Adrian Serle, Group CEO at Communicorp, said: ‘“We recognise the local villages and towns in Ireland are under real pressure, and for them to survive we all need to ‘Buy Local’. Without the support and trade of everyone, those communities will perish.”
