The jury in the trial of a man accused of Ashling Murphy murder's have been shown clothes and jewellery she was wearing on the day she died.

Detective Garda Ronan Lawlor from the Garda Technical Bureau told the jury he examined the scene along the Grand Canal in Tullamore on January 12th, 2022.

He said Ashling Murphy was wearing a GAA top and white t-shirt – both of which were described as bloodstained – along with tracksuit bottoms and a grey scarf.

The t-shirt, top and scarf were shown to the jury of nine men and three women along with two blue Nike runners, a watch, a pink hat, a ring, sunglasses and a necklace – which Detective Lawlor earlier described as having the word 'Ashling' on it.

Earlier, Paul McCabe, who was the clinical lead with the ambulance service tasked to the scene gave evidence that they were called at 3:49pm on January 12th.

He said when they arrived, Gardaí were still applying CPR to Ms. Murphy, before she was brought out of the ditch and onto the footpath.

He said that they decided not to use the defibrillator by that time, as she had shown no signs of live and that she was dead.

The jury was also shown CCTV footage this morning, with more expected this afternoon.

Jozef Puska who is 33-years-old, of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co. Offaly is on trial for her murder, which he denies.
