Gardaí in Kilkenny are at the scene of an incident this morning at 'Butterslip' between High Street and Kieran Street.
A suspect device is believed to be at the scene and the bomb disposal unit is on the way.
High Street is closed both ways between the Vicar St and Patrick St junctions.
In a follow up search, a man in his late 50s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
