A man in his 40's is being held by police after a knife attack at an under-16's GAA match in Co. Tyrone.

It happened just after 9pm on Thursday night during the under-16 football Championship semi-final between Cookstown Fr Rocks and Fintona Pearses in Cookstown.

It's understood one man attacked another with a knife. Both men are reported to have received stab wounds in the incident which unfolded in front of spectators including teenagers and young children.

Video footage shot by a spectator at the game shows one man being detained and led away by police.

One man was treated at the scene for minor injuries, a second was taken to hospital.

Cookstown GFC says it is now supporting children and young people "who witnessed this disturbing and very serious incident".

Tyrone GAA says its thoughts are with all of those impacted.
