A man boarding a flight with no boarding pass or correct documentation has been described as 'hugely embarrassing' for Dublin Airport.
A 48-year-old man managed to make it through security and onto a plane to Birmingham on Monday night.
The man was removed from the plane in Dublin and appeared in court yesterday where he was fined €700.
The DAA says it notes the speedy apprehension of the individual by airport police and says an internal review is underway.
Eoghan Corry from Air and Travel Magazine says it may lead to security measures at Dublin Airport being increased as a result.
This is "hugely embarrassing for the airport".
"What inevitably happens out of an event like this is that the security will be upscaled and that will mean extra checks on everybody going through.
"People will remember the big security queues and the problems that we had last summer.
"So it could cause security cues to slow down a little".
