Criminals will no longer be able to use properties or other assets while they take court challenges against Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB).

The Justice Minister has announced changes which mean a receiver will automatically be appointed once an asset is deemed to be a proceed of a crime.

Simon Harris says it will end tactics used by some to delay the seizure of assets by CAB.

Minister Harris says 'vexatious' challenges are being taken in court against CAB, which has seen some criminals continue to enjoy the use of their assets or properties for lengthy periods of time.
