People from Westmeath are most likely to lash out at Alexa or Google Assistant, according to a new survey.

A survey revealed 19% of users report misunderstandings while 27% adapt their speech for better recognition.

The research carried out by Pure Telecom also found nearly half of people in Kerry said they change their accents to improve voice recognition.

Users in Kerry (46%), Westmeath (44%) Mayo (40%), and Sligo (40%) were found to change how they speak the most.

Of the one thousand people surveyed over 70% said they use voice assistants on the likes of phones or smart speakers, while 1 in 5 (26%) of adults in Ireland own a smart speaker.

About one in five say they've yelled at their device - with 38% of people in Westmeath getting riled up by the technology.
