Post Mortems to Be Carried Out on Bodies of Man and Woman Found in Clare

Post mortems will be carried out today on the bodies of a man and woman found dead in Co. Clare.

Gardaí are treating the deaths in Killinaboy, near Corofin as suspicious.

Emergency services were alerted at around half 2 yesterday afternoon and the scene was preserved for an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

The body of a man, aged in his 50s, was found outside the property while the body of a woman, also in her 50s, was discovered inside the house.

It’s understood the two are related.

In a statement, Gardaí said they were investigating all of the circumstances following the discovery.

A spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of two bodies in Co. Clare this afternoon, Thursday 9th November 2023.

Gardaí were called to the scene of the incident at a domestic residence in Killinaboy at approximately 2:30pm.

The bodies of the deceased, a male and a female, remain at the scene.

The scene is currently preserved pending an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
