The trial of a farmer accused of murdering his ex-lover’s boyfriend has heard about the forensic search of a computer found in his house.

Patrick Quirke from Breanshamore, Co. Tipperary is accused of murdering local DJ Bobby Ryan sometime between June 3rd 2011 and April 30th 2013.

Patrick Quirke was the one who found Bobby Ryan’s body in an underground tank on his ex-lover’s farm in April 2013.

Mr. Ryan was in a relationship with her when he went missing almost two years beforehand.

Today, the court heard a forensic examination of a computer taken from Mr. Quirke’s home in May 2013 found searches of online articles following the discovery of the local DJ’s body.

Det. Garda Paul Fitzpatrick also told the jury that someone visited websites relating to body decomposition on the same computer in Sept 2012.

He said searches in relation to ‘How DNA works’ and the limitations of DNA evidence were also found on a file containing the backed up data from an iPhone.

Mr. Quirke denies murdering Bobby Ryan.
