Taxi Drivers to Stage Another Protest Tomorrow
Taxi drivers say they will go on strike again this week over Uber's fixed fares system.
Representative group Taxi Drivers Ireland say they haven't received any communication from the app over its controversial plans.
Last Thursday, drivers staged a go slow protest at three locations in Dublin to voice their anger.
Hundreds of cabs drove at under 20km/h from Conyngham Rd to Clontarf, around Dublin Airport and towards Government Buildings.
Further demonstrations are planned for Merrion Square and routes to Dublin Airport for 4:30pm on Wednesday.
Uber says riders are much more likely to book a trip if they know what the fare is going to be.
The company says this creates more earning opportunities for drivers across the country.
It says its fixed price offer does not breach fare regulations, as was mentioned in the Dail.
