The entire country will be subject to status yellow weather warnings this weekend, with temperatures set to plummet to as low as -4 degrees.
A snow and ice warning will come into effect for Donegal from 8 o'clock tonight until 11 tomorrow morning - a similar warning, also for Cavan, Monaghan, Louth and Connacht, will come back into effect on Saturday and Sunday nights.
The rest of the country could face temperatures of between -2 and -4 degrees, with a low temperature and ice warning in place on Saturday and Sunday night.
