The death of a toddler in Cork city is being treated as 'suspicious'.
A two-year-old girl was found with serious injuries in an apartment complex at Boreenamanna Road yesterday morning.
She was pronounced dead in Cork University Hospital and a Garda investigation is under way.
Gardaí in the city say a potential crime scene will be preserved over the weekend for further examination.
Local councillor, Des Cahill, lives nearby and visited the scene yesterday.
He says he spoke to neighbours from the area who were distressed by what had happened.
After news of the death broke, Councillor Cahill says there was a very sad air throughout the whole neighbourhood.
