Two Irish citizens have tested positive for Coronavirus and are currently being treated in a hospital in Japan.

They were among 6 Irish citizens on board a quarentined ship docked off Yokahama.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says they share dual citizenship with another EU member state and are not normally resident in Ireland.

The remaining four Irish people on board the Princess Diamond Cruise Ship remain quarantined on board and options for their return are being worked on.

Meanwhile, nine Irish citizens were on board another ship quaratined off the coast of Cambodia.

Seven of those on the Westerdam Cruise Ship are being screened.

Two other Irish citizens who were also passengers on board that ship returned to Ireland over the weekend.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it will not comment on any individuals health.

To date though the Department of Health has said there are no cases of the coronavirus in Ireland.
