Two men have died in separate road collisions in Dublin and Donegal.

At around 9.10pm last night a car and a motorbike collided at the junction of Kimmage Road West and Whitehall Road in Terenure in Dublin.

The driver of the bike, a man aged in his 30's, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was seriously injured in the collision.

A technical examination of the scene has been completed by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has now reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage is being asked to contact Gardaí in Terenure.

Separately a man in his 20's has died after a two-car crash in Donegal.

He was seriously injured in the collision on the R236 in St Johnston in Dundee, that happened at around 9.15pm last night.

The man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, where he later passed away. The road is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene.

Cyclist

A male cyclist in his 60's is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after he was struck by a car in Portlaoise yesterday evening.

The incident happened on the Ballyfin Road shortly before 7pm.

The man was removed to Beaumount Hospital for treatment and is said to be in a critical condition.

The road is currently closed between Woodbrook and Palace Cross to allow for a technical exam to take place this morning.
