The Great Blasket Island is looking for two people to live and work there this summer.

The caretaker roles involve managing a coffee shop, along with overnight accommodation for three holiday cottages, on the picturesque island between the months of April to October this year.

The remote island is situated off the coast of coast of Dunquin in Co Kerry, near Dingle.

On its website, The Great Blasket Island Experience said they're looking for a 'hardworking, responsible and trustworthy duo that have great people skills and initiative'.

The day-to-day tasks include, meeting and greeting overnight guests, cleaning and painting the cottages, and serving tea, coffee and snacks to day-visitors in the coffee shop.

Interested applicants are required to be confident and creative in posting content on social media to promote the island. The ability to speak Irish is also an advantage.

The successful candidates will be given accommodation and food, and will also paid be paid a wage.
