Guinness Six Nations organisers have confirmed that the game between Italy and England has been postponed.

Saturday week's fixture in Rome was due to be played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak.

As things stand, Ireland's match against France will go ahead in Paris on Saturday week.

"The decision has now been taken to postpone the three matches between Italy and England (men's, women's, and U20) set to take place over the weekend of 13/14/15 March, with the intention to reschedule them at later dates," Six Nations organisers confirmed this afternoon.

"Based on the information that is currently available, all other Six Nations matches are set to go ahead as scheduled.

"As previously stated, Six Nations fully intends to complete all 15 games across all three championships when time allows."

The Italian government last night ordered all sporting events must be played behind closed doors until April 3rd.

The country's government also announced all schools and universities would be closed until 15th March.

The news leaves the completion of the competition up in the air with Ireland and Italy's game, which was due to take place in Dublin this weekend, already called off.

As well as this, at the weekend the French Government banned public events of over 5,000 people taking place throughout the country so Ireland's clash against France on the 14th March is also a major doubt.
