Kneecap Member Appears In British Court
A member of Kneecap will reappear before a London court in August.
Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, also known as Mo Chara, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court today, charged with a terror offence
On the 22nd of May, he was charged with this offence, after it was alleged he displayed a flag supporting Hezbollah at one of the band's London gigs at the O2 Forum on the 21st of November last year.
He arrived at court this morning to a rally, with hundreds of supporters outside.
During his appearance, the prosecution said this charge has nothing to do with the band's support for Palestine, and said Mo Chara has the right to voice his opinions and solidarity.
The court was adjourned until the 20th of August, when it will hear arguments over its jurisdiction in this case.
The defence has said it would argue the charge was brought after the six-month limit.
The rapper was released on unconditional bail, and an Irish language interpreter was requested.
