One Man Dead And Two Others Injured In West Dublin Assault


Gardai are continuing to investigate the circumstances of a stabbing in Blanchardstown in Dublin, in which a man died and two people were injured.

One line of inquiry is the deceased man hurt his daughter and her partner before taking his own life.

One neighbour describing the distressing scene here at Ashfield Park yesterday afternoon.

Locals said they heard adults screaming and saw a woman making stabbing motions to try and explain what had happened.

Neighbours struggled to understand what was going on - as those involved were speaking a different language, believed to be Romanian.

The gardai were called and one woman said her sister saw a young toddler being taken from the house – unharmed but with blood on her.

A man in his 40s died during the incident while a man and woman in their 20s are in hospital with serious injuries.

Gardai are investigating if the deceased man hurt his daughter and her partner before taking his own life.

However, they say they need to speak to the those involved and receive the results of the post mortem before deciding on the course of their investigation.
