A 17-year-old boy has been found NOT GUILTY of the murder but guilty of the manslaughter of Azzam Raguragui.

The 18-year-old died following a fight between two groups of boys in Dublin.

It happened on May 10th 2019 at Finsbury Park in Dundrum.

A 17-year-old boy, who can’t be named because of his age, admitted Azzam's manslaughter but denied his murder.

It was the Prosecution’s case that the accused - who was 16 at the time - assembled a group of people, armed himself with a knife and stabbed Azzam.

But the accused said it was self-defence, he said he had been trying to break up a fight and he didn’t mean to hurt anyone.

In the end, the jury reached a majority decision that he was not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter.

Azzam’s mother reacted emotionally in court when the verdict was read out – crying out ‘it’s not fair’.
