The portal to register for a covid-19 vaccine is to open up to people aged 30-34 next week.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says the HSE plans to open the portal up to this age cohort 'towards the end of next week.'

It's also been confirmed today that 45% of the adult population is now fully vaccinated.

67% of adults have received their first dose as of yesterday.

The head of the HSE says the national incidence rate of covid-19 is still "holding strong" below 100.

Donegal, Limerick and Waterford have the highest local incidence rates.

The median age of those who are infected across the country is 26.
